IP FAQs
IP verification is one of the unique selling points of OpenNTF. Any project can include a license file and be hosted on any number of open source repository websites. But where are the guarantees that a project with an Apache license actually conforms to that Apache license? Where is the peace of mind for the consumer? This is what OpenNTF's IP process brings. When a project release is submitted, our IP manager will use third-party tools to double-check the code. Once approved, the release will be marked as "cleared". So a release with a specific license and "Cleared" showing as "Yes" gives you that peace of mind.
See the sub-pages for further information on how to apply the license and other questions.
